Past Perfect Tense /পুরাঘটিত অতীত

অতীত কালে দুটি কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়ে থাকলে তাদের মধ্যে যেটি আগে ঘটেছিল তা Past perfect tense হয় এবং যেটি পরে হয়েছিল তা simple past tense হয়।

বাংলায় চেনার উপায়:
বাংলায় ক্রিয়ার শেষে কোন নির্দিষ্ট অতীত ঘটনার পূর্বে, ছিল, ছিলাম, ছিলে, ছিলেন, ল, লাম, লে, লেন, তাম, তে, তেন এদের যে কোন একটি যুক্ত থাকে।

Structure:
1^st subject + had + verb এর past participle + 2^nd subject + verb এর past form +2^nd object.

Example:– আমি ভাত খাওয়ার পূর্বে সে বাড়ি আসল

এই বাক্যটিতে ‘সে বাড়ি আসল’ এই কাজটি আগে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে তাই বাক্যটি Past perfect tense এ হবে। আর ‘আমি ভাত খাওয়ার’ এই কাজটি পরে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে তাই simple past tense এ হবে

He had come home before I ate rice.

 Note- আগে/ পূর্বে লেখা থাকলে হবে before এবং পরে থাকলে হবে after

– আমি স্কুলে যাওয়ার পূর্বে সে মারা গেল – He had died before I went to school.
– ঘণ্টা পড়ার পূর্বে তারা স্টেশনে পৌঁছল – They had reached the station before the bell rang.
– ডাক্তার আসিবার পূর্বে রোগীটি মারা গেল – The patient had died before the doctor came.

2. Negative Sentence: Past Perfect Tense /পুরাঘটিত অতীত এ না বাচক বাক্য লেখার নিয়ম হল

Structure:
1^st subject + had +not+ verb এর past participle + 2^nd subject + verb এর past form +2^nd object.

– ডাক্তার আসার আগে রোগীটি বেচে রইল না –The patient had not alive before the doctor came

– বিছানায় শুতে যাবার পূর্বে আমি দরজাটা বন্ধ করলাম না – I had not shut the door before I got into bed.

-রিনা আসার আগে তুমি পৌঁছালে না- You had not reached before Rina came.

3.Positive Interrogative: : Past Perfect Tense /পুরাঘটিত অতীত এ হ্যাঁ বাচক প্রস্ন লেখার নিয়ম হল

Structure:
Had +1^st subject  + verb এর past participle + 2^nd subject + verb এর past form +2^nd object.

Example:

-শিশুটি কি তার বাবার মৃত্যুর আগে জন্মেছিলে?- Had the child born before its father died?

-তুমি কি পরীক্ষা শুরু হবার পরে হলে পৌঁছেছিলে?- Had the exam started before you reached the hall?

-তুমি স্টেশনে পৌঁছানোর আগে কি ট্রেনটি ছেড়ে দিয়েছিল?-Had the train departed before you reached the station?

4.Negative Interrogative: : Past Perfect Tense /পুরাঘটিত অতীত এ না বাচক প্রস্ন লেখার নিয়ম হল

Structure:
Had +1^st subject  +not + verb এর past participle + 2^nd subject + verb এর past form +2^nd object.

Example:

-সীতা জন্মানোর আগে কি শ্রী রাম জন্ম গ্রহন করেন নি?- Had Shree Ram not born before Seeta was born?

– আমি স্কুলে যাওয়ার পূর্বে সে কি স্কুলে পৌঁছায়নি?- Had he not reached school before I went to school?

-বিছানায় শুতে যাবার পূর্বে তুমি কি দরজাটা বন্ধ করেছিলে না? – Had you not closed the door before you got into bed?

5. Wh-word Positive Interrogative: Wh word এর অর্থাৎ What( কি ), Where ( কোথায় ),Why ( কেন),When (কখন),Which ( কোনটি ),How (কিভাবে) Past Perfect Tense /পুরাঘটিত অতীত এ হ্যাঁ বাচক প্রশ্ন লেখার নিয়ম হল

Structure:
Wh-word +Had +1^st subject  + verb এর past participle + 2^nd subject + verb এর past form +2^nd object.

Example:

-আমি আসার আগে তুমি কোথায় গিয়েছিলে?- Where had you gone before I came?

-পরীক্ষা শুরু হওয়ার আগে দিপা কখন এসে পৌঁছেছিলো ?- When had Deepa reached before  the exam started?

-বাস আসার আগে কে এসে পৌঁছেছিল ?- Who had arrived before the bus arrive?

-রোগীটি মারা যাবার আগে ডাক্তার আসেননি কেন?-Why had not the doctor come before the patient died?

-সে আসার আগে তুমি কোথায় যাও নি?-Where had you not gone before She came?

-ট্রেন ছাড়ার পূর্বে সে কিভাবে স্টেশনে পৌঁছায়নি ?- How had  he not reached Station before the train departed?
